AUTHORS NOTE: I am the main cheerleader for the Pewaukee Girls 7th grade basketball team and I wanted to show my support by being a cheerleader. I wrote this poem honoring my favorite team and my dedication to cheerleading.
Long hours of training, sweat, blood, and pain.
Practicing to do one thing…
Win!
Though I don’t even play, but I still work hard,
I put all my effort forth to support my team.
Traveling, practicing, working,
but still never stepping foot on to the court
Trying my best at every minute,
but still never stepping foot on to the court.
Basketballs whiz by but I have no interest it that,
I have interest in cheering on my team…
As a cheerleader!
Every basketball game I go to,
I cheer
Every tournament I attend,
I cheer
Having no interest in basketball,
But definitely in supporting my favorite team!
Go 7th Grade Pirates!
Niiiiice Katelyn! I can definitely tell you wrote this! It was a lot of fun to read, great job!
ReplyDeletethat was awesome. I can't wait for tomorrow! you did really well on this piece, i liked how you started it off as if you were a basketball player, and then added a twist where you were actually a cheerleader. Nice job!
ReplyDeleteThat was pretty cool. I like how you repeated it over and over that you don't step on the court but, you still cheer. Good job!
ReplyDeletei like how it starts out how the reader is assuming you play basketball but it turns out to be something totally different, good job!
ReplyDeleteThat was really good. and like other people said its cool how you repeated things. and if you read it another way it could deffinately have other meanings!
ReplyDeleteThat was really nice. You used god repetition with how you never step on to the court, but still work hard. You might want to proofread your poems, more. When you said "Basketballs whiz by..." you said "it that". I think you meant "in that". But that is not a large problem. Overall, you did a nice job!
ReplyDeleteThis was awesome Katelyn!I really liked the twist in it, how you start out writing about a sport you don't play. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone!
