The Curious Incident of the Dog and the Nighttime

Author's Note: First off I would like to say that I hate this post. I don't think it is good at all, and I am not even really sure what form I wrote it in it's not quiet and essay more like a short response I had some difficulties writing a response to the novel The Curious Incident of the Dog and the Nighttime because I wrote a response to the Truman Show and talked a lot about the novel within that piece. This piece however I didn't want to repeat my self so I wrote about how everyone lies and there's no way avoiding we just have to except it. Comments would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

People lie for many different reasons, but humans all have in common one thing when it comes to lying, and that is that we all lie. Wheter we lie to give ourselves a new reputation, or we are tring to keep someone safe we all lie and there's no way avoiding that statement. If someone trys going a whole day without lying they will fail. Lying is something that is part of our nature and always will be.

Even though being lied to hurts we still all do it. People lie to keep others safe most of the time, and we don’t fully comprehend how the person will take the news once they find out about the lie. In the novel The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime Chistopher's dad did what he thought was best for his child and told him that his mother was dead instead of telling him the truth about how she left their family. Chistopher's dad was doing this to keep Chistopher safe but he didn't think about how Christopher would feel once he found out about this lie.

Chistopher's dad also set up this lie for himself. He was heart broken that his wife had left him and his son so he created her death. The best thing he thought for his family was to keep her out after she left he thought that this would be best for his son, but really it would be best for him. People make up lies sometimes to protect themselves from other's like Chistopher's dad did.

Lying can take many forms, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't lie. It's hard to say wheter or not lying is the right thing to do, but  lying hurts many people.  We all lie and there's no way avoiding it, so if it is considered wrong we are all doing the wrong thing.

  1. I didn't think this post was too bad. I would definitely consider it an essay in my opinion, and I like how you expressed your opinion on how lying is both beneficial and deceiving. You did a good job on this response.
